T500 und WWAN unter Linux

Hallo,

ich habe für meine Eltern ein refurbished T500 mit DockingStation bei Misco gekauft. Die 160GB HDD wurde durch eine 128GB SSD (Samsung 830 Series) ersetzt und Kubuntu 12.04.1 amd64 installiert. Beim Network-Manager gibt es nicht die Moeglichkeit das WWAN zu aktivieren, wie beim W530. Unter Windows 7 ist bei der Lenovo Software der radio-Button ausgegraut. Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere, stand bei Misco damals dass WWAN vorhanden ist. Wie kann ich ueberpruefen ob ein WWAN Modul vorhanden ist?

ps. gibt es soetwas wie ein Vorstellungsthread? ;)

fürs wwan ist lspci irrelevant. interessant ist aber die ausgabe von sudo rfkill list und, ob die sim drin ist.
 
Es gibt wwan karten die als PCI erkannt werden.

Da ich mir bei dem Gerät nicht sicher war .. schaden kanns nicht ;)

Klar kann er schauen ob rkill was anzeigt. Frage ist ist es Standard in Kubuntu?

Daher: lsusb zeigt dir die Karte, egal ob sie mit rfkill geblockt sein sollte ;)) erstmal an. Wenn sie im lsusb schon nicht zu finden ist ist sie defekt oder nicht verbaut oder im Bios deaktiviert.

Dann natürlich schauen ob eine SIM drin ist.

in meinem t400s steckt die gleiche wwan-karte, die auch im t500 steckt (ericsson f3507g). daher kenne ich deren marotten:

wie man an der ausgabe erkennen kann, taucht die f3507g in der ausgabe von lsusb nicht auf, wenn sie deaktiviert ist. ;)
das gleiche gilt für die sierra mc8775 aus den *61-tps (deren vorgänger mc8755 wird sich wahrscheinlich auch so verhalten)

Gehe ich richtig der Annahme, dass keine WWAN Karte verbaut ist/wurde?
Gibt es eine Moeglichkeit dies nachzuruesten?
 
aufschrauben und nachsehen, ob die wwan-antennen-kabel vorhanden sind. eine schraubanleitung findest du im "hardware maintenance manual", kurz "hmm". dann kanst du dir absolut sicher sein, ob es geht. wenn die karte aber fehlt, obwohl sie laut produktbeschreibung dabei sein sollte, solltest du dich an den händler wenden
 
da du berliner bist, wie wäre es mit einem besuch des berliner stammtisches. dort wirst du bestimmt jemanden finden, der dir das gerät aufschraubt, um sich zu vergewissern, ob du die wwan-antennen drin hast oder nicht.

der nächste termin wäre der 06.10.
